Cabin Baggage

IMPORTANT

Updated 26/01/2015

With immediate effect all passengers boarding flights to and from UK airports are likely to be subject to additional security checks. Consequently we strongly advise passengers to be at their boarding gate no later than the time advised by their airline to allow for any additional security checks and avoid the risk of denied boarding.

In particularly all electronic items carried in hand luggage including, mobile phones, Ipads (or similar) and laptops must be sufficiently charged before reaching the check in gate to demonstrate that they can be switched on and are working. If this is not the case the equipment will be confiscated prior to be boarding or in some cases the passenger may be denied boarding.

As UK airports and airlines may implement these new security measures differently or amend them at short notice, we strongly advise that you visit your airline’s website to reconfirm the relevant information shortly before departing for the airport.

The US Department of Homeland Security National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) provides public information about credible threats. For all current alerts, visit the US Department of Homeland Security website. NTAS alerts apply only to threats within the United States and its territories.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued security directives to all US and international air carriers with inbound flights to the US. If you’re travelling from or through nations that are considered state sponsors of terrorism or other countries of interest you will need to go through enhanced screening. For a list of the countries affected visit the TSA website.
